Introducing Our New President: Justin Jerome Joins the Board of Directors!

We are excited to share a significant milestone for our organization with the appointment of Justin Jerome as our new Board President. With a deep commitment to community and inclusivity, Justin brings valuable experience to our team. In this post, we will highlight Justin's journey, his dedication to the Atlanta LGBTQIA+ community, and his vision for Below the Belt Sports.

A Journey Rooted in Values

Justin Jerome grew up in Aurora, Colorado, where he developed strong values and leadership skills. He was active in sports like baseball and wrestling, and he excelled as an Eagle Scout. Through these experiences, he learned the importance of resilience and teamwork. These qualities will be vital in his role as Board President.

After college, Justin moved to Washington, D.C. There, he worked for Congress, which gave him insight into governance and fueled his desire to make a difference in his community.

A Transcontinental Move to Atlanta

Justin’s journey led him to various cities, including Norfolk and Augusta, before returning to Atlanta in 2020. He found Atlanta to be a city that fostered inclusivity and diversity.

In 2023, Justin joined the Atlanta LGBTQIA+ community and actively participated in sports leagues. He recognizes sports as a unifying force and plans to leverage this in his leadership role.

Vision for Below the Belt Sports

Justin’s vision for Below the Belt Sports focuses on ensuring everyone feels they belong, particularly those from marginalized communities. He plans to expand outreach efforts and promote inclusivity, aligning with our mission.

"We are a community that thrives on diversity," Justin says. "Every individual, regardless of their background, should feel welcomed and valued in our space. Together, we can create a more inclusive future."

Under his guidance, we expect exciting initiatives, including:
